We are very proud to have our Meat Locker located in the town of Sudlersville. It’s a town located right in the heart of the Delmarva Peninsula accessible from points north such as Middletown Delaware, points west such as Easton and Chestertown Maryland and points east such as Dover the capitol of Delaware.
Many of our customers travel some 30 minutes to get to our store and buy local fresh meats. For those who travel more distance and are new to the area we like to say that there are several secrets to an enjoyable and educational visit to the town of Sudlersville.
Secret #1 An Historic Train Station
In times past the Delmarva was a source of peaches and tomatoes and the railway brought its fruits to points north and west. The Sudlersville Train Station was a railroad hub. Today you can visit the Sudlersville Train Station Museum and learn about this period of ag industry prosperity. Sudlersville Meat Locker is adjacent to this valued heritage museum.
Secret #2 Sip Local Wines
Tilmon’s Island Winery was one of the first Chesapeake Wine Country Trail wineries on the Eastern Shore. On weekends seconds north of the main intersection in town visit Don Tilmon, Owner/Winemaker and sip his locally grown and crafted wines.
Godfrey’s Pick-Your-Own Farm open every day from mid-April through Labor Day, grows and harvests some of the best produce the Eastern Shore. In addition to their own produce, Godfrey s buys the best from local farming neighbors. Its like a only actually on a farm with daily hours offering lots of local produce, along with locally produced cheeses, yogurt, prepared foods, baked goods and coffee.
